I am working guy whose tax rate is higher then that of billionaire. Its the same in every country btw. Why? Because all those "socialist" politicians are multi-milionaires and they dont want to tax them selves. It is easiest for them to tax working guy, because working guy can not leave country that easy - but if they push me too much I might also leave. Also all the rich can hide their money with all the loopholes and tax havens. It is by design so those politicians can do it too.
In the real world, only hope for a guy without army of lawyers and accountants is lower taxes.
This will all be solved with Bitcoin. Soon lots of working people will have huge amount of portable and hard to tax capital. They will be able to move to countries that treats them best (lowest taxes with highest quality of life). This will bankrupt all the corrupt oppressive governments.
So let me get this straight, you’re working class but hate programs designed to help working class (socialism) and in fact are advocating for a billionaire to end a social program that supports working class people.
This makes you a working class apologists for the rich and you think you’ll be a rich fuck someday and yourself won’t need any social safety net when you get too old to work.

What you are describing is good in theory, problem is in reality:
- over 60% of my income goes to government and taxes are still increasing over time
- poor people are still poor
- homeless are still on the streets
- expensive SUVs have disability cards so they can park on those disability spots
- politicians (including socialist) are multil millionaires
- government is still going bancrupt (more and more in debt) and printing more money
....
When I hear those rich smugs saying "government is going to help you" I hear "we are going to take more money from your pocket and give it to ourselves and our rich friends and give the rest to those stupid people so they vote for us again"

The fact that working class people have higher tax rate than ultra rich means government is extracting money from working class and supporting billionaires.
Honestly I hope at least some countries will manage to dismantle "social state" so that when my taxes eventually move to 90% and I become complete slave of government I can move to one of those countries.

and I have heard all the stories from my parents and they generation how it worked in reality. Yes we had no billionaires (except maybe some top communist party members) and everyone was poor and depressed and bullied by random deranged party members in every aspect of life.
(fun fact, Austrian economists consider current system we have fascist. Makes sense, when you look from economic standpoint how fascism works - thats basically what we "in the west" have. We are only missing the ultra nationalist shit
