I make my own too. I just buy the tallow straight as beef dripping. But in the new year I'll start buying my beef from a local farmer and ill ask if they do the fat as well.
So closing the circle one item at a time 👍🏻
My first bars of tallow soap are curing. One three weeks until I can see if it was a success. Thank you nostr:nprofile1qqsppdnxpjc82jlm3yn9gawhv7p4nm69a3f80rg5ycw305xned2s0hcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhswy2ckt for the inspiration. I’m too stubborn to pay European import taxes, so I decided to make my own.

Yes! I’ve been rendering my own tallow for four years now, have a rancher down the road that also butchers as well. I’ve felt like it’s a bit to precious to use for soap, but my wife has been making soap with olive oil for a bit so I though there would be a good chance of success with her help. 🤞🏼
