Also its track record has been established for 15 years now. It perfectly does what it promises to do.
All those who use and accept Bitcoin as payment do so for the real Bitcoin. Forks and clones although they run the almost the same code fundamentally, are not Bitcoin anymore.
There are forks of Bitcoin out there, like BCH and BSV. Go look how they’re faring now.
Bitcoin is the OG because the Bitcoin blockchain enjoys network effect - there are nodes and miners - it's established. Bitcoin is just the blockchain. Transactions are simply wallet transfers. So, the success of Bitcoin comes from the success and proliferation of the Bitcoin blockchain.
You can fork the software as much as you want, but you can't replicate the success and proliferation of the Bitcoin blockchain
