Does knots have a kill switch that auto-shutdowns your node after three years of the software's release?

I don't get how this software just stopping by default in the middle of operation is acceptable to people. Just beyond me.
Hold on, this doesn't actually shutdown, it keeps running, but forks itself of the chain. That's... worse
