Why is such blantant hypocrisy permitted when it comes to Bitcoin?

We're constantly warned and primed to be on the lookout for misinformation, critical of things we don't quite trust or understand, and generally (rightfully) suspicious of digital information...

But when it comes to Bitcoin facts are out the window, people uncritically dogpile on narratives that have been thoroughly proven false, and the media is permitted to create and amplify misinformation to their heart's content.

People are raging hypocrites and too ignorant to even know it.
