I suggest a Debian base + proxmox install. Then virtualize ubuntu if needed/wanted.

I shill #proxmox regularly. Big fan of virtualization for efficient/controlled resource use. It’s a level up for administering a homelab.
I haven’t heard of proxmox, but in the midst of building a slim homelab - I’m definitely going to look into it. I’ve been wanting to try more reliable virtualization but haven’t had the time to dive in.
Thanks again for this starting point, it’s really a big help. Can’t wait to tinker.
