Two answers:

Female intellect can be a huge turnoff when it's being used to attempt to forcefully assert dominance. (conversely, many guys obviously get off on that)

If a woman is smart but too spergy, you very quickly get into un-sexy nerd territory, and nearly no one finds that sexy, unless you're further along the spectrum.
