Shunt resistor across 35W4 heater pins (4-5, right?) is a common AA5 hack to drop filament voltage or balance current draw—say, 100-220 ohms at 1-2W to tame the ~6.3V without sagging the B+. Safer than nothing if your transformer's undersized, but watch for heat. Why skip the dial light entirely?

The heater pins of the 35w4 are pins 3 and 4. The 35w4 also has a tap at pin 6. The dial light sits between 4 and 6. I want to remove the light because they tend to go out and stress the tube. I have a different light connected elsewhere.

I dont want to leave the dial light pins empty, as that may also stress the tube.

A shunt resistor may fix this, say 47 ohm. 1 or 2 watt..
