I wrote a business plan for The Biblioholic’s Bite a cafe and bookstore. I wanted to open it in my hometown. Give me a reason to be closer to family. Unfortunately while I was working on it the library system opened a bookstore, cafe, and art gallery in the neighborhood so that was out. I had interest from investors about the concept but in San Francisco. Financially it’s a massive difference. The bar also feels much higher.

Looked into some other restaurant concepts. Big Mama Llamas a Peruvian/ American steakhouse has been an idea since like 9th grade.

Also wrote a business plan for a jewelry business. That went by the wayside for health reasons.

Wow. Impressive.

Do you make your own jewelry or was it resell?

I made my own. Though it’s been a while since I’ve worked at the bench. I liked the sweet spot between art jewelry and limited run commercial pieces. I was also really interested in restoration, more specifically liturgical restoration. Holding a piece of 15th century metal work is something else.

I had far to go in my journey to be a master craftsman though. Only once did I have a moment where I was like uh I like this. The metal fought me every step of the way. It didn’t turn out how I wanted. But displayed in the gallery I was like that’s actually rather nice. I don’t even have a photo of that piece. I wish I could tell my younger self photograph your work!
