What Nostr has to offer now and in the future, it's impossible to make simple client. Look at the NoStrudel. It's cluttered as hell and I stopped using it because of this reason.

There are good deaktop clients which are simple and clean.

I don't know what you actually need but the clients like amethyst exist as web apps but the buttons and workflow is different. Underlying tech is the same.
