Paraguay’s Foreign and Trade Ministers are meeting following reports that ABIN spied on the Paraguayan government.
“We are taking this very seriously because it would be an unprecedented event. We are investigating to determine whether the information is 100% accurate, and then we will take the appropriate measures,” said Trade Minister Javier Giménez.
The Paraguayan government has suspended negotiations with Brazil over Itaipú until the espionage case is clarified.
