Let's be honest. Visa's decision to opt for Solana to expand its cross-border payment capabilities represents a loss for the Lightning Network.

I don't think decentralization or censorship resistance are values that carry much weight with them. They will continue to censor payments that fail AML checks or are related to the "terrible things nobody should have" like drugs and firearms.

You will want Visa to do cross-border payment on Lightning.

Maybe once Lightning Labs releases Taro there will be transaction speed and cost incentives to use LN instead of Solana for the stablecoin payments.
