HF! George on Cryptos are us said on his evening podcast last night that one of Satoshi’s genesis wallets received 27 #bitcoin. I didn’t realize that one didn’t need the private keys to send to a wallet, only to spend from it.

Of course. Have you read the bitcoin white paper?

The sender needs to sign with their private key, but in this case it was Binance.

The best part is it’s essentially a burn address, since this address can never be spent from. People have sent tips to it over the years like a wishing well.

False.

The address can be spent from by whomever has a corresponding private key.

Checksum for the address checks out from RIPEMD160 result so good chance a private key leads to it

Unless Satoshi was a 3-letter agency, there is no chance in my mind that the key was saved.

Agrees. On a long enough timeline though, that key can be discovered.

you got a hundred thousand years?

Just like how we zap each other to a public address 😉
