Literally the next sentence says, “Responding to controversy a year later, however, the IBA more generally claimed that Khelif was "subject to [a] … recognized test" but that "the specifics remain confidential."”

Why confidential?

I would assume the IBA is keeping the results of their test “confidential” because they are lying about them. If they had tests that definitively stated Khelif had XY chromosomes, it would be trivial for them to show the results of these tests and lay the controversy to rest. Instead, they’ve failed to show anything. Since they’ve failed to do the simple thing that would prove them right, you have to assume they are lying. They obviously just wanted to protect their Russian boxer that Khelif embarrassed.
