That is cool. What would you use them for? Fermented and not pickled?

Is this lacto fermented?

I wanted to do it as just veggies and salt but was concerned about how much contact the top was going to have with the air, so I put a little yogurt whey on the top surface which will probably help it along. I’m not entirely sure of terminology, but since whey is involved, does that make this lacto-fermented by default? πŸ˜
