Fuck yes, well said! This is something that I've tried to convey that doesn't get talked about enough. We are the capital allocaters of the future, don't forget that.
Discussion
We are the capital allocators that have a very high bar. What we don’t allocate will grow in purchasing power exponentially. The opportunity cost has never been higher than what it is now for capital allocation.
So not only are we the new standard for capital allocation but what gets the allocation is going to be a new standard of quality.
A true renaissance
45% hurdle rate is going to be hard to beat.
Indeed. Have you thought about the luxury that a 45% hurdle rate provides in terms of aesthetics?
You also get to invest into non ROI projects because you can. It’s an aesthetic imperative. Chapels, cathedrals, hospitals, schools, and local communities.
Very fun future ahead.
Beautiful architecture is nearly completely absent today, and I greatly look forward to seeing much more of it beating built. Any great latent art that cannot escape because people are slaves to the 9-5 really. I kind of saw this before I saw bitcoin, knowing that the deflationary nature of technology will allow people to pursue what really inspires them.
