I understand why one might have that understanding. Pre Internet, information was contained and compartmentalized. So unless you were important enough to know someone that was slightly more important than you kinetic force (the military) was the ultimate stop-gap and he who has the mightiest military played wisely wins.
But now we don't have to be an "important" person that knows a slightly more "important" person to have the same information. You just need to know how to access the interwebs.
So the stop-gap in most cases will precede the point in which kinetic force needs to become a factor.
A rant I know. So thanks for hearing me out and would love to hear how you think this plays out.
