Also to be considered, is that a typical electric engine can be about 50% the weight of a gasoline fuel engine for a vehicle. That can be about 250 lbs that could be potentially discounted in a comparison. The electric engine is more efficient by weight and use of energy, it's the batteries that have very low efficiency and specific energy.
Some people say EVs are the future, however it's currently a huge step backward with the use of battery technology.
