As soon as it leaves a hard money standard I suppose they might say to themselves, “we’ll pay it back sometime” or “it will be worth it” which are ultimately lies so not sure how you can start being honest from there. I’m sure there’s honest people within the system somewhere, but I’d argue a naive actor within a fundamentally dishonest system doesn’t make them truly honest.
