That’s hogwash. If the Taiwanese want independence why would we oppose it? We fought for our own independence. We don’t have to go looking for trouble, but neither should we allow our policies to be shaped by a tyrannical dictatorship. The Soviet Union could have said the same thing regarding West Berlin. Would we have listened then?
