Meanwhile Bitcoin is struggling to hold six figures. Always darkest before the dawn? 🚀 🚀 🚀

nope

I've noticed a lot of positive gold talk suspiciously corelated with the recent price action here on nostr

gold cannot disappear

I was born orange and will die orange. Gold failed to remain decentralized during a time government had less draconian tools that they have today. What makes anyone think it can do better now? It’s Bitcoin or communism I’m afraid, but first Madibles and boomers who can will try to flee to gold.

No matter how hard gold rips it still doesn’t function as money in the 21st century without having to trust someone

Exactly! As much as I might like to send you $0.02 worth of gold for engaging with my post, it’s just not likely to happen.

Not to mention that there will be forever more found

You can do gold trustlessly, but it is very difficult. Goldbugs don't even come close to it.

I suppose if we wanted, we meaning society, we'd all get a gold shaver and go to stores who'll accept gold in payment. We'll weight it out in gold shavings. Of course, nowadays, we just have to pair gold with Bitcoin. What I find interesting is that gold & Bitcoin get quoted in fiat dollars.. How do we get fiat out of the equation? It'll be interesting to see what happens when/if there's an announcement about a Stable Coin that's backed by gold/Bitcoin.
