I noticed an #orchid in the grass last year, since then I have got good at spotting them so I mark them so I don't accidentally mow them. Up to about 10 now just emerging to flower

Yeah, I will take a better photo next week when its out more. The flowers are like little versions of the large tropical ones. There are some pretty weird looking ones like the one I had outside my house one year before the council contractors strimmer ate it
My favorite lawn orchid surprise was finding Ladyβs Tresses in the yard as a kid and learning theyβre not only orchids, but native. Otherworldly, unusual looking flower
π Some are very bizarre in apearance and I keep finding more of them now. I thought it was going to be a random bluebell but it's a pinky violet colour so I am glad I avoided mowing it in the end.
