There used to be. The council of the inner sanctum decreed that public zapping was the way to go on nostr and so it was. There were a few discussions amongst some users early last year, who, while not necessarily dissenting, felt that we should reflect on what the public zapping effect might do to change users behaviours. I held out as long as I could in private zapping, it used to be an option in clients to choose, but the tide was strong. I maintain that we should discuss this aspect of using nostr amongst ourselves again.
