I have always understood and agreed with your point that non elite QBs are overvalued. I just don’t agree that competitive teams should be in perpetual rebuild mode until they find an elite QB because there are so few of them. I also don’t think constantly trying to sign reclamation projects or veteran QBs past their prime to save 15M a year is a sustainable way to build a contender either. Now an argument could have been made that the 49ers should have let Brock play out his final year and then franchise tagged him next year and the year after. Then you have a couple more years to see if he develops further as a young QB but the strategy is to lock up the core and build around them through the draft. Time will tell if it works.
