I've been noticing an unusual behavior on #Nostr where notes from users I don't follow (and haven't interacted with through likes or reposts) are appearing in my feed. This occurs even when these notes haven’t been engaged with by anyone I follow.

I'm curious if this is a known issue, could someone shed light on whether this is a bug or a feature intended to introduce users to a wider range of content?

Are they using hashtags you follow?

Update: nope. Look at the screenshot, I’m not following nostr:npub1s9c53smfq925qx6fgkqgw8as2e99l2hmj32gz0hjjhe8q67fxdvs3ga9je and there are no hashtags.

Sometimes damus shows “not following” to followed users. Can you confirm on coracle.social?

If not a currently followed hashtag, there is a known 🐞 where if you unfollow, unfollow does not work as intended.
