We have not yet learned how to communicate with any of the other species on our own planet yet we expect to communicate with aliens?
There aren't any other species on our planet that are as intelligent as us...

I don't think we're very intelligent at all
Regardless, we are more intelligent than any other known living organism.
In our definition of intelligence atleast.
