Interesting - why “weird”?

I honest don’t know. I don’t track how many hours these take (that’s not the kind artist I want to be, at least not for these types of pieces). The maze making kind happens on a bit of an art trance state. The magic takes as much or a little time as it takes 😄

This came together over 2-3 weeks.

Hey thanks for your kind answer, it definitely wasnt meant to be an insult or anything like that, just my honest feeling atm. It's beautiful and I appreciate your work. Have a beautiful New Year :-D

Thanks! I didn’t think of it as an insult at all. I’m just genuinely interested in the feelings, thoughts, emotions that my art evokes in others. I often struggle to fully contextualize the finished product even after I’ve poured so much energy and intention into it - the final result always evades and becomes its own thing separate from any of my conscious direction.

I started this with a loose inspiration of “ocean waves” and somehow I wound up in the Pleiades in the end. I can see the connection between the two now in retrospect - cycles, voyage, mystery - but it was not a connection that was consciously drawn upon during the work.

And “weird” is a good word around these parts anyways, especially when taken into its fully entomological context.
