While I agree with the “you can shoot someone who has invaded your home and refuses to leave after several warnings” thing… In NY you must LIVE full time in a place for six months before you can claim any squatters rights, and while squatters rights may seem ridiculous, if I or a representative have not visited my home in six months maybe it should go to someone who needs it…..
