bit of a strange outlook but

when i encounter refugees who are facing family separation and are trying to save their children and spouses

i kind of consider them lucky in a weird way

oh, you have a wife

oh, you have children

oh, you have people in your life to care about who care about you

in a weird way, i'd rather have that than the meaningless safety and comfort i have been granted because i'm born in Norway.

Wow. There is plenty of misery to go around. Do you identify as an ingrate occasionally? Involvement might help.

That shit was deep! I understand what you mean but consider that you can have both things. They cannot.

You say your safety and comfort is meaningless but in reality it’s very valuable, you just have not learned it’s value. Perhaps you also sense that they appreciate what you have more than you do.

Family’s are built and clearly it’s never the perfect time to build a family!
