I remember getting by with the equivalent of 300 euros my first year in college back in Spain. With that I paid rent, all my groceries and all my vices. Then, came the euro, 25% inflation from one day to the other.
Right after college, a decade ago, rent was only $500, for an entire floor. 🤦♀️
