I help run the Vegas Bitcoiners Happy Hour and we use it to advertise our weekly event. We've gotten quite a few drop ins from folks passing through and met a lot of cool Bitcoiners from across the globe.

Then personally when I travel I'll check to see if there are any events happening. I've been to several in California when I've popped over to LA, OC, and Santa Monica, for example.
