Don't know if it was a good idea changing relays...I lost people I was following in my list of followings, even myself.
How can it be?
Can someone explain how come I stop following myself by changing relays?

I'll boost this. I'm not educated enough to give a clear explanation. I can say, if you change relays, you risk losing some of the former feed due to how the different relays interact.
You need to have at least one relay in common with everyone you follow or you will not see their posts.
You can go to each person’s profile check to see if you have a relay in common and add one if you don’t.
Having too many relays will cause some apps to slow down. So be mindful of how many you add
Have you thought about hosting a local relay yourself or using a premium (paid) relay? This should minimise such risks.
I guess the app you are using does not cache your follow list locally and solely relies on the data you receive from relays. In this case changing relays affects your follow list. You might be connected to relays that don't have your current follow list and serve you an outdated one.
