If there's one downside about being both an idiot level passionate hobbyist and privacy seeker, it's that there's situations I can't openly show my passion about something 🥲 there's also the fact that the place I live has a culture that made me naturally more reserved about my hobbies too.. ho well..
It gets easier I find. Just be honest to those you think might appreciate you sharing, and if they don't, no problem, no need to make an effort with them again. The best I ever got with strangers or acquaintances was genuine interest in what I had to share, but it never lead to anything more. It's sad how many npc's walk around but it is what it is, I stopped caring and share for the sake of sharing if I feel like it, regardless of results.
I don't have problem with the lack of interest or response, I'm kinda used to it.
The problem is IRL many people around is bound to get envious and try to harm me in either a emotional way or in a material way as hobbies is seen as a "anti-social rich kid/manchild thing" around here by NPCs. On the internet, it's not far fetched to say there's things so especific and niche that showing a picture of it could be a tracking piece of information.
