Bitcoin developers and Bitcoin influencers are not much different from the rest of the people, you have to assume that they are mostly corrupt.
When in doubt keep Bitcoin unchanged.

I agree! Do not trust developers if you don´t understand why they want to change the code. Do not get mislead because they sound smart. Challenge them to explain it simple so you could understand the benefit.
