I've recently been buying real books again over ebooks and completely might throw in the towel on ever buying ebooks. Unless I can guarantee it's not locked into some system like Amazon. Which is nearly impossible for most books thanks to publishers and tech companies.

This is a prime example of why I actually believe in Value 4 Value with sats. I hardly ever talk about it but I think that the future of funding creators is going to be just directly sending them money for a product or service. Want their new book? Send them the minimum amount. Maybe more. Then bam you get the book. Fuck a publisher. Fuck Patreon, or any other payment platform, taking a cut.

Basically I want a world where I can send anyone, be it a writer or musician, money on a "pay what you want" basis like Bandcamp, but without the creator losing 30% to bullshit.
