I got struck by lightning once. While at Burning Man in the middle of the desert, no avoiding it other then sitting in my car for hours. Don't worry, I didn't do that.

It snapped with the sound of one giant popcorn popping. Or kind of like the sound barrier crack of a long whip. It stung through my neck and felt like someone sank a long dagger straight down through me. The electricity could be felt it in the air, hard to forget the feeling. Though I was the only one in a small group that had felt it strike.

I think about it sometimes when I get zapped here.
