Within nostr you can send tips to profiles and posts, which are called zaps ⚡

To send and receive zaps you need a Bitcoin Lightning Wallet. The easiest for beginners is Wallet Of Satoshi (https://www.walletofsatoshi.com/, which is available for iOS and Android). Browser users can use https://getalby.com/

To connect it to nostr you need to go into "Receive" on Wallet of Satoshi where you will see a generated lightning address (looks like an email address).

Copy this address and paste it into your nostr profile where it says "Bitcoin Lightning Address" (or similar depending on the client).

If everything worked out your profile will have a lightning bolt symbol ⚡ and people can send you zaps. Just ask around, usually someone will zap you to test it out.

There is even is a weekly event called the #zapathon where people go crazy sending zaps.

This is very helpful!

Fyi, there is an extra “is” in “There is even is a. . . sentence.” Can you take that out or is an edit feature in posts not possible yet?

Edits don't work currently because posts are spread over the relays.

Why do you talk about WOS but link to getalby?

I have linked both. Unfortunately Damus only shows the second link as a large preview.

Awesome,

My biggest challenge was creating two nsec keys. One with alby and then another when I logged into snort, which I didn't keep the nsec key for and now it's locked. Luckily I didn't get too far before I figured it out (like 2 days and 5 follows) at least now I can go to that profile and see when I signed up (April 20th)

Now I test all new stuff by logging out and then logging back in to make sure I got it. Also keep all my keys stored in my password manger.

What a wonderful explanation..👏👍💜🧡🤠🗽
