Today would have been my momβs 67th birthday. She passed away when I was in high school.
Ever since I met my wife, who believes deeply in celebration, we have spent my momβs birthdays eating her favorite meals in celebration of her life and legacy. I have my wife to thank for inspiring this tradition.
Tonight, we went to my momβs favorite French restaurant in NYC, and enjoyed shrimp cocktail, scallops, steak, great drinks, and a delectable dessert in her honor.
This has become one of my familyβs dearest traditions. We celebrate and honor the person who knew and loved me the most; the one still watching and loving us now, from not-too-far-away π€
Absolutely beautiful!
What a wonderful tradition and way to remember and celebrate her life ππ

Itβs always both deeply loving and very hard. But the love shines brightest β¨
I hope that maybe my son might do that when I pass on π
