My current ISP (who I have cancelled with, but it happens in a few weeks) called me to ask why I cancelled, but wanted to confirm my full name, date of birth and account number. I told her because she called me, I can't be certain she isn't a scammer, so I will have to call her back on the official number. She confirmed the official number (matched her calling number and one of their phone numbers deep in their website) and her name with spelling. I called back and the wait queue is more than 1 hour, but I can schedule a "call back" where they will call me when it is my turn in the queue.

Does anybody see what the problem is? I don't think they are going to find out why I cancelled.

This topic came up this morning on Twitter when Preston Psyche 😉 nearly got SIM swapped. I made some hopefully helpful changes on my ownT-Mobile account.

I freaky thing was that the scammer went to a Verizon store with fake ID to make SIM changes!

Damn!
