Anyone in the Tampa area?

This storm looks like it will be huge. I’m interested to know if people are evacuating. Also, how do you secure your home etc. Crazy times. Be safe.

The dynamics of hurricanes is weird with our geography.

Basically, if it lands south of us it will suck all the water out of the bay.

If it lands north of us we will get catastrophic flood.

This is because of the direction cyclones rotate in this hemisphere.

Yes we're evacuating to a hotel few miles inland.

As far as securing the home if you're not done by now and have everything you need you're f*****.

Gas stations are empty.

Essentials like bottled water are depleted.

Basically I just bring everything up from the garage. (Any house built post 1991 in a flood zone is built over garage or on stilts).

We were already planning renovations so an insurance claim would be a windfall.

Sounds like a solid plan.

My nephew is in the Daytona area. They will be fine over there.
