What if we can have a room temperature super conductor and cheap and massive batteries/supercapacitors that will charge and discharge efficiently at high rates?
It seems reasonable that for transportation, battery problems (weight, cost, longevity, safety etc) together with the charging problem could both be solved, possibly with little or no additional generating capacity.
I'm not betting against it.
