I used to be super into it when I was learning about Byzantine culture and arguments but in retrospect Plato is the only good one.

#[0] I suspect that the half-truths that Plato had to bend his spine to arrive at would've been known more intimately and more truly by the average farmer already, although the farmer would not have been able to put them into words or teach them
True. Plato isn’t a good read because he’s right. He’s good because he was human. It doesn’t hold up to modern epistemology at all, nor does most of metaphysics. The death of Plato is kind of synonymous with the death of religion in the past 150 years.
