TIL JFK's sister Eunice Kennedy founded the Special Olympics. And that JFK and his team almost died in the sea during WW2, he carried his friend on his back and swam him to the shore. This week's read is on the Kennedy's family. I've got 'JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters' by James W. Douglass. This book has one of the most amount of exploration of documents of the CIA, Joint Chief Staff, pissed off military industry over peace and more in bringing JFK down. If you have a particular book you have read about the Kennedy's family, would love to know about it.

that book is fan tastic. you just reminded me of the audio book i downloaded. RFK jr's - American Values: Lessons I Learned From My Family. specifically about hid dad & uncles political battles

btw, i've heard RFK mention the fact his aunt started the special olympics in numerous interviews and every time i can't help but think of the shane gillis bit 😂
