-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-

THE DOORS & THE MOVIES 🎥
From the jungles of Apocalypse Now to Oliver Stone’s epic biopic, The Doors have always had a cinematic soul. Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek studied film at UCLA, and it shows — their music plays like a movie in sound, full of drama, tension, and atmosphere.
Their 11-minute masterpiece “The End” became one of the most iconic openings in film history when Francis Ford Coppola used it to set the tone for Apocalypse Now. In 1991, Oliver Stone’s The Doors brought Val Kilmer’s uncanny portrayal of Morrison to the big screen, mixing fact and legend in a psychedelic swirl.

For a more authentic view, the 2009 documentary When You’re Strange used rare footage and Morrison’s own short films to tell the story in their own words and images.
From myth to reality, The Doors’ relationship with cinema proves one thing: they were more than a rock band. They were storytellers, directors, and dreamers. And the reel keeps rolling.
