As my first #grownostr post im bringing public awareness to a tick borne illness called Alpha-Gal, My wife got this and it makes you allergic to Beef , pork , and other non primate meats. It is on the rise in many states. Her doctor told her its all in her head. Just be aware if you are having any odd symptoms. it happens 6 hrs after ingestion so is not always associated with meat. Can cause full anaphylaxis.

I'm deathly afraid of alpha-gal as I love meat.
I just recently moved to the Ozarks and being from Washington State I'm not that familiar with ticks.
Since living here in southern Missouri I've noticed a crap load of ticks, most of which are the infamous lone star tick.
I'd love to find a way of decreasing their numbers without spraying toxic chemicals. Aslo chiggers suck.

Lots of ticks in the woods where I live. Never heard of this, and I'm on a carnivore diet. Interesting.

She was told by many "Experts" that this was "Long Covid" (She got covid within three weeks of the tick bite,) The second article describes some of her symptoms exactly. Also most ticks can carry more than one thing.
She went to see a Doctor who is not part of the system, who believes she may have Babesia as well. She was told by many 'Doctors" to take Cymbalta (Anti Depression).
Another issue is so many items are mammal based.

I believe she has PTSD like fear of trying anything new now for fear it may have mammal components. She has had to call the manufacturer to adk on so many items.

I got bit by 2 ticks last year and i appear to be fine but i havnt been tested.
Also Labcorp and Quest test are not accurate.
You need specialized testing at higher cost( Ins may not pay)
