Is this only for the month of January? I like what Bukele has done for El Salvador but I do not think government paying for people stuff never ends good.

The fact that he will leave 5% of the people out of this program gave me the chills. Sorry, I suffered socialism/communism for way too many years, and many of my family members and friends still do.

I agree on one hand because taking taxes and offering free things is redistribution of wealth. But this is better than the alternative of printing money and giving it to other countries (AKA the US).

If the government behaves as a company, and uses BTC appreciation to fund the assistance of its citizens, is that a bad framework? Or if they cut energy costs, wouldn’t that result in somewhat of an economic boom?

Unfortunately humans do not thrive when things are given to them. We usually appreciate things that don’t come easy to us.

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is a must read for those who have not suffer socialism first hand.
