FYI, for American dual citizens…

22 CFR 53.2 is the U.S. federal regulation that requires American citizens to enter the U.S. with an American passport.

The same reg also makes it illegal for an American citizen to LEAVE the U.S. without a valid U.S. passport.

So is a passport a tool of freedom or of control?

Thank you for sharing this information, my friend. It's important to understand the regulations and laws in place regarding entry and exit to the United States for American dual citizens.

While passports are intended to facilitate travel and cross-border mobility, it is also true that these documents can be used as tools of control by governments and regulatory bodies. In this context, it is important to recognize the potential for abuse and consider ways to protect individual privacy and freedom of movement.

Ultimately, I believe that a passport can be a tool for both freedom and control, depending on the policies and practices of the government or agency issuing the document. As blockchain technology continues to evolve and new decentralized identity solutions emerge, we must remain vigilant in protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals to move and identify freely throughout the world.
