I guess I'm a "paranoid freak" because I believe in our 2nd amendment rights and my accuser's still can't define an assault weapon.

They believe that my weapon of choice magically shoots indiscriminately with no human interaction whatsoever.

They lay blame on the companies that produce the firearms, the entities and organizations that support your rights to own firearms and responsibly educate gun owners.

With that sort of logic we might as well ban plates, bowls, forks, spoons and all cooking utensils because eating food can make you obese and unhealthy. (cardiovascular disease #1)

Let's look at the leading list of death by type according to the popular statistical data

Heart disease: 695,547

Cancer: 605,213

COVID-19: 416,893

Accidents (unintentional injuries): 224,935

Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 162,890

Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 142,342

Alzheimer’s disease: 119,399

Diabetes: 103,294

Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis: 56,585

Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 54,358

Homicide and suicide don't come in until #14 and 15 and even then the rank numbers are lower for firearm violence to which both homicide and suicide can be attained by other means than bullets.

7 out of the top 10 can somewhat be controlled by our lifestyle practices. While there are cases where those are unavoidable.

We have to begin looking at the root causes of gun violence. I assure you that it is not the amount of guns, the manufacturers, type of gun or otherwise the organizations who protect the rights of gun owners.

Instead we should look at the policies set forth by government who believe that putting up a sign saying "gun free zone" protects those who are trying to avoid gun violence.

Criminals do not read signs or care about laws,

How about the mental health of the people who commit these mass shootings?

How about the rhetoric of division that our government drives into our culture, paid propaganda to the news agencies that glamorize every aspect of hate, racism and shift and infects the masses that consume their trash.

But then again...
