Some clients support a content warnings where you can mark posts as NSFW for example. Content is then blurred for users before accepting the warning. More and more apps support this.

on damus i believe everything is blurred by default!

Yes, but only in the global (aka universe) feed. Usually it's best to follow a bunch of users to have you own curated feed.

I usually post images containing nudity either with a content warning, or I avoid generic hashtags like 'photography' in these cases. Then only user that follow me or more specific hashtags will see the images.
