The quick answer is that Bitcoin is decentralized and alt coins are not.

The longer answer is p.o.s. cannot be a viable form of money, p.o.w. is required (spend as much time as you want on this point lol). And since only pow chains are worth being money the hashrate on Bitcoin is the signal.
